Dr. Laraib Fatima Abro

Biography

I am Laraib Fatima Abro, a passionate and dedicated professional hailing from Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. I recently graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm-D) degree from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, achieving a remarkable CGPA of 3.83. My academic journey was further enriched by a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification from Dow University of Health Sciences and specialized training from renowned institutions like Duke University School of Medicine.

The program Clinical Research Certified Professional (CCRP) certification from Dow University of Health Sciences deepened my understanding of clinical research operations, Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and regulatory compliance. The CCRP certification has been key to enhancing my skills and commitment to excellence in clinical research.

I embarked on diverse roles during my undergraduate years that shaped my multifaceted career. From November 2022, I served as the Chairperson of the IVPN-Student Webinar Committee. In this role, I demonstrated strong leadership and team management skills, successfully leading a diverse workforce and organizing impactful webinars. I also provided mentorship to fellow students, fostering both organizational and career development.

In addition to my leadership roles, I honed my skills as a Freelance Graphic and Multimedia Designer from August 2023. Utilizing the Canva platform, I designed a diverse range of materials and implemented strategic marketing initiatives to promote client objectives effectively. My adaptability and collaborative skills enabled me to manage projects virtually and onsite, ensuring client satisfaction and success.

Education and mentorship have always been close to my heart. I delivered comprehensive Resume Writing Training sessions to final-year students and juniors pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy at LUMHS. Additionally, I educated students on common resume mistakes and provided insights into optimizing resumes for digital screening through ATS and JATS systems. My commitment to mentorship was further evident through my role as the Chairperson of the IVPN-Student Webinar Committee, where I extended mentorship to fellow student members, focusing on organizational and career perspectives.

During my internship at Getz Pharma, I gained practical insights into Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Research Operations. I contributed to safety monitoring, conducted literature searches, and gained hands-on experience in data management and regulatory compliance. My dedication to research excellence was also showcased through my role in developing a coder dictionary for the PAK HEART FAILURE REGISTRY project. I became the first in Pakistan to create such a dictionary.

I had the honor to serve as a Student Ambassador of my University for the International Student Research Conference (ISRC) 2023 at Aga Khan University themed "Translating Research To Advances In Healthcare," further enhancing my commitment to research and academic excellence.

I also presented my research at various conferences at LUMHS, including the International Academics and Research Summit 2022.

My passion for the pharmaceutical industry and commitment to continuous learning led me to participate in the Regulatory Affairs Training Program at Duke University School of Medicine in October 2023. This program provided me with valuable insights into regulatory affairs, further enhancing my expertise in the pharmaceutical sector.

Beyond my professional commitments, I am deeply passionate about giving back to the community and empowering the youth. As a member of SmartSindh, I contributed by writing career blogs and articles to inspire and empower the youth of my province.

My journey thus far has been characterized by academic excellence, practical experience, and a relentless passion for mentorship, innovation, and community engagement.
